President, 4:12 Network
Thanks for stopping by!
My name is John McClendon. I am passionately committed to the Lord’s calling on my life to helping the church equip the saints (Ephesians 4:12). I am the President of 4:12 Network, established on 4/12/2012 – a ministry dedicated to connecting ministry specialists to the unique ministry needs of churches.
My wife, Becky, and I have two grown sons: Nathan and Patton who are married to Courtney and Gracie respectively.
I
have been blessed with a broad range of ministry experiences and
successes in my life. Prior to beginning the 4:12 Network, I served at
LifeWay Christian Resources for 12 years, as an Adult Ministry
Specialist, Lead Adult Ministry Specialist, and, for the past 5 years,
as the Manager of Training & Development. Prior to going to LifeWay
Christian Resources I served for 21 years on church staff at churches in
Florida, Texas, Louisiana, and Alabama.
In addition to leading the 4:12 Network, I am a consultant with Unlimited Partnership’s Church Strengthening Division,
lead Sunday school and small group training conferences, and speak to
churches on a wide variety of topics. I am an active member of Northside Baptist Church, Murfreesboro, Tennessee where I teach an adult Sunday School class and coordinate the First Impression’s Ministry.
I have been involved over the years with numerous writing projects including: Beyond the Walls: Multiply Your Adult Ministry (e-book), Essentials for Excellence: Connecting Adult Sunday School to Life (e-book), and How-To Sunday School Guide: Curriculum Workshop for Adult Leaders. I have also written for LifeWay’s ongoing Sunday School curriculum and January Bible Study (2009 and 2013).
On
a personal note, I believe in working hard and playing hard. Work
focuses on serving the church and being an advocate for leaders who God
has blessed with skills and resources that they desire to share with
churches. But I do like to have fun with family and friends. Hiking,
fishing, turkey and quail hunting, traveling, and anything else that
might take me outdoors is what I call fun! I am also an extrovert who
loves to sit around discussing and shaping new ideas.
It
is my prayer that this blog will become a valuable reference tool for
you as you join with me in building up the body of Christ!
