It would be sad if you were so busy organizing, guiding, and directing that you failed to realize that adults weren't growing. Take some time to evaluate whether you are on the right course.
I measure results by using a simple benchmark related to Bible study group attendance and ministry involvement.
- If a person is attending a Bible study group at least 50% of the time and has at least one ministry they are serving in, then I consider them on track.
- This doesn't sound like much involvement, but it is simple to measure from year-to-year. I have discovered that, if I don't monitor this, our assimilation of adults drops from 75% to about 45%.
There are assessments you can also use to evaluate the spiritual
maturity of adults.
- One such assessment to consider is the Transformational Discipleship Assessment.
- Another assessment and study by Tom Cocklereece, a 4:12 Network Member, provides an in depth look at spiritual development. His study is entitled, Disciple Maker's Toolkit.
