What Do You Need Most in Order to Plant a Church?

Once you have established the fact that God is leading you to plant a church, and you have surrendered to this call, the next very important step is to acquire as much insight and "know-how" as possible. One person who can help you with this is Dr. Rodney Harrison, Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
From 1984 to 1992, Harrison served as a bi-vocational church planter. From 1993-2003, he served in associational and state convention work in California. In 2003 he went to Midwestern as the Nehemiah Professor of Church Planting in partnership with the seminary at North American Mission Board. Although his ministry role at the seminary has changed over the years,  the focus has been the equip the saints for the work of ministry.
