Is Your Bible Study Boring?

“I have spoken these things to you while I remain with you. 26 But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit —the Father will send Him in My name—will teach you all things and remind you of everything I have told you.

If you are like me, you probably ask yourself the question periodically, "How can I make Bible study more interesting for my group?"

There are a variety of techniques, processes, and activities we can employ to enhance our presentation. It is important that we learn these skills so that we can become the best teachers/communicators of the Word that we can possibly be. However, there is one educational element that is only available when we teach the Bible. This element is not something but Someone - The Holy Spirit!

In a culture that is experiencing a feeding frenzy on knowledge and information, we must remember that, for the believer, the Holy Spirit is the One who makes the Scriptures "come alive."

Prayer: Father, for those of us who teach God's Word to Your people, may we never forget that our teaching competencies, knowledge, and skill, while very important, can never replace the work of your Spirit. May we earnestly invite Your Spirit to work in and through us as we prepare and present Bible study. Holy Spirit, teach us and remind us of everything. When You are present, the message is not boring!
