So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling clothes, and laid Him in a manger,
because there was no room for them in the inn.
(Luke 2: 6-7)
1 day before Christmas let us explore the concept of a baby changing everything.
All new parents know how much is changed in their world when a newborn arrives. That is also true for parents who choose to adopt an older child or a youth. The world turns upside-down in either case. This was also true when Jesus came to earth at Bethlehem.
Tomorrow we will celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. As you go through the day, take a moment every now and then to think about Jesus’ life on earth and how that life changed the world. It will be easy to describe how Jesus changed the world spiritually. We should also think how Jesus’ teachings changed the world then and now. Give some thought as to how Jesus changed leadership, faithfulness, preparation, praising God, spiritual insight, provision, stewardship, concern for others, life as a journey, and being faithful followers.
There is one thing we must keep in mind. None of us would be on our life’s journey if a baby had not been born. A baby changes everything!
