Christmas Devotions Day 9 - Giving and a Baby

Twelve Days Before Christmas Devotions

So Jesus answered and said,
"Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine?
Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?”
(Luke 17:17-18)

9 days before Christmas let us explore the concept of “giving God glory.”

Nine lepers were healed and did not come to Jesus to thank Him and to glorify God. They might have become so excited at being cleansed they ran to their families to show what had happened.

There are times when God intervenes in our lives and we become so excited that we tell our loved ones and friends. We forget to stop and thank God and praise Him for what He has done. It comes about almost as an afterthought. We need to train ourselves that the first words out of our mouths and minds is thankfulness to God. The first action is to praise Him. Then we can spread the word as to what has taken place.

There is one thing we must keep in mind. None of us would be able to give God glory if a baby had not been born. A baby changes everything.
