Jesus Christ Saved Me: The Greatest Day

The soul hunter! That’s what I was called by my fellow employees when I worked for a chemical company after first being saved. For me, every person needed what I had. Jesus Christ saved me and it was the greatest day of my life. I wanted then and now for everybody to be saved! Do you have a passion for lost souls to be saved?  If everybody witnessed like you, would you be saved?

The Importance of our Witness
I believe each of us has a major part in reaching the lost.  I have met many who came out of the gate of salvation witnessing like a fire storm, only to soon lose their zeal and become commonplace about sharing the gospel. I think the primary reason is that many get discouraged with the lack of visible fruit from their labor.  There is far more to witnessing than one can comprehend, and often it is a very long process. In fact, the seeds you sow may take decades before there is a harvest.

Have you lost your fire? I encourage you to continue to plant a seed every time you have opportunity to do so. Don’t underestimate the importance of teaching a boys' and girls' Bible study class, planting God’s Word in your children, talking about the good grace of God with those at work, talking with your neighbors, family and friends, etc.

As an evangelist, I know the harvests I see when I visit a church and preach, are based upon years of parents planting the Word, the prayers of many, the pastor weekly preaching the Word of God, the Bible classes and those faithful teachers etc.

The Promptings of the Holy Spirit in the Lost and the Soul Winner
I’m delighted that winning the lost to the Lord is not based upon my skill. The Holy Spirit prompts the saved and the lost. There have been times when I knew it was the moment for me to share the Gospel, and I have been blessed to have had the experience of some asking, “What must I do to be saved?”  You are not responsible for winning the whole world but planting the Gospel seeds with those the Holy Spirit has brought into your path. Take the time to read 1 Corinthians 3:5-11.

You may not have the gift of evangelism, but you have the responsibility to witness. You may say, “I’m not equipped to be a soul winner.” While you may not have any formal training or advanced training in evangelism, you can share what Jesus Christ has done for you. Here is a short soul winning plan:

Elements of a Personal Testimony
My life before I met Jesus (brief)
How I met Jesus
My life since I met Jesus
Would you like to meet Jesus?

At the End of the Journey
When you reach the end of your journey, soul winning will be one of the most important and rewarding things you will have done. On the other side, you will have a better or complete perspective of what you truly accomplished. There is so much not seen by the physical eye. Our perception is limited, but the value of a soul is one the greatest investments you will ever make. Share your faith and don’t let the cold water committees of life put your soul winning fire out. Fan the Flame of your soul winning passion.
