All of us who pastor churches agree that all pastors should continually sharpen their skills. Reading books and articles is probably the most used avenue. I would suggest that pastors not only read material by theologians and preachers. I suggest they expand their reading to include authors who are proven church practitioners and biblically aligned leaders. Most importantly, keep the Bible as your primary source for guidance, growth, and decision making. You can suggest books for other pastors in the comments section below.

networking can take time, it is also vital. No man is an island, and you need personal interaction with others who are like-minded. This enables you to gain insight, sharpen your skills, and help others as they do the same. We do need each other!
