Why Provide the Teaching Helps?
I serve as an adult Bible study group leader and the Discipleship Pastor at Northside Baptist Church, Murfreesboro, TN. We use one curriculum source for our Bible study groups so that we can provide support, focus, accountabilty, and leadership to our groups. The curriculum we have chosen to use is the Explore the Bible curricululm from LifeWay Christian Resources. Part of our leadership development strategy is to deliver weekly ministry and teaching helps through a web-site set up exclusively for use by our Bible study group leaders. Other churches have asked if they could access the site so they could share the weekly helps with their Bible study group leaders.
In order to fulfill this request without skewing the tracking of how our site is used by our own leaders, I will post the teaching helps to the 4:12 network blog on or before Thursday of each week.
The teachings helps are not intended to replace any Explore the Bible resources LifeWay Christian Resources provides. The intent is two-fold: (1) To teach leaders an application based approach to teaching the Bible; (2) To provide supplemental discussion questions and learning activities.
